Charles Barkley Labradford Smith
for
Lionel Simmons Kendall Gill Sonics 2nd 99
Why I did it - Cliffy is my current PF, and while he's tearing it up on offense, he's getting murdered on the boards - leaving me 2nd last in the league in rebounds. Also LaBradford is VERY solid and makes up for losing Gill IMO
Why Miami did it - Cap reasons...Clearly..
Sooo - Thoughts?

Good move for both teams.
Toronto wins now, Miami gets money back to spend and have a better team next year...

Good for both for different reasons. The Raptors rape the Heat right now, but the Heat get capspace.

And money is going to be huge in this FA season. Still, it looks like the Heat have a lot of money being paid to their players like GP, Gill, Rose and Montross. I don't think they have any cap room right now...
Well, Barkley wasn't really going to "show-up" for many more years, so it's still a solid move, but Miami needs more moves before it can really start working towards utilizing the strong FA class this year...
If Miami has their own pick, then this trade was infinately better for them..

Actually a good trade for both teams. Good to finally see Miami trying to win and build instead of comparing themselves to the worst team in the league to feel better about themselves.

I'll have close to 17 mill in cap space and i have more depth than when I started. I have my own pick, which is lotto and I need a good fa younger power forward that i can really build around. I'll be more active this off season as well. It's a learning process.
and.......it wouldn't be a message without a clippers bash so i have to say that i'm so glad that i have a model and example to follow in the clippers gm. Bless him or her(not that there's anything wrong with that) for paving the way for all of us.

Wait? Did the Clippers just burn Miami by talking about himself being horrible? I hate this rivalry so much.

Miami how do you have 717 mil in cap space? You pay a lot of salary, the cap is only like 49
