With a look at the teams now in order we all can take a look at my preview of the upcoming top 10 picks for this seasons draft. Here's the preview: (open for discussion)
#1 Houston Rockets (via Seattle)
Gary Payton
An already awesome team will get that much better with the addition of the "Glove". A dominant center, power forward, and an all out defensive team will love their probably new point guard, and should have a very good chance of owning their division and conference for years to come.
#2 Minnesota Timberwolves
Derrick Coleman
Minnesota needs help at all positions so I see them taking the best player available. Coleman is versitale and will help by being a player that the Wolves can build around. He should help them improve over 25 wins, just not alot more.
#3 Los Angeles Clippers
Tyrone Hill
The Clippers could really use a Shooting Guard, however there doesn't seem to be one worth drafting. Especially not in the lottery. If they keep this pick it'll be best player available, but I would consider offers for it and get a future pick out of it.
#4 Toronto Raptors
Elden Campbell
Toronto looks to improve on their 13 wins a season ago. It really hurts they missed out on the top 2 spots in the draft and fall to #4. Another case like Minnesota of not having much of anything so they should draft somebody they can build around. I'd guess it should be a center and should either be Sabonis or Campbell. Campbell is the better potential so I'll guess him
#5 Charlotte Hornets
Arvydas Sabonis
Charlotte has some room to work as well. They'd like a small forward here, but this draft is really bad outside of GP, and big guys. So once again Best Player Available is who to draft here. Sabonis is a training camp or PP help away from being very good right away.
#6 New Jersey Nets
Terry Mills
Going into the draft the Nets have 3 players under contract so they can go with just about anyone with a pulse. They do own 2 first round picks this season #6 and 19. They may want to hit up a couple of the above teams to maybe nab a really good player or just draft for their needs. Terry Mills should be the best player at this spot above Antonio Davis mainly because of the slight height difference.
#7 Milwaukee Bucks
Antonio Davis
At least the Bucks could use a big man in this draft, since there are plenty Davis or the above mentioned Mills should drop into this spot where they can add another starter to their roster, and Davis is a very solid player who's got the chance to improve into a very good player.
#8 Dallas Mavericks
Dennis Scott
Dallas could use one of the above big men to fall down to 8, but I'm just not sure it's gonna happen. If so they'd be smart to draft a big guy, but if not Scott seems like a very solid pick at 8. He's got good outside game and potential to be a very good 2nd or 3rd option for this team.
#9 Portland Trailblazers (via Orlando)
Alexander Gallatin
This is now Chris Mullins team, much in thanks to Portland management liking to ship out all it's star players. They got this pick in the Drexler deal and I'm trying to find out why they did the deal. There won't be much worth drafting outside of the top 7 or so picks so best player available....Alexander Gallatin?
#10 Philadelphia 76ers
Felton Spencer
Philly has a good defensive team brewing there. I think needing a center Felton will be the best one left. He plays defense and rebounds, not to mention he's an upgrade away from a B- inside game.
Lets see your thoughts on who should be moved around here. The draft seemed to be better before I sat down and looked it over.
