(BSPN)- Last season, the Milwaukee Bucks was one of the most improved team. Going from the league's worst record to fifth in the East. But a dissipointing first round exit proved that they still had ways to go before they could hang with the big dogs. After a few offseason, the Bucks are poised to make another playoff run.
Projected Starters:
C: Amare Stoudemire
After an amazing offseason in which Amare improved his post game, his defense, his rebounding, and put on ten pounds of pure muscle, the reigning rookie of the years is ready to take his place as one of the best centers in the league, and a legitimate MVP candidate. Amare, the only untouchable piece on the roster, may very well be, the best young player in this league. A 22 year old star with alot of upside, Amare proved to be the best pick for these Milwuakee Bucks at first overall in the 2004 draft.
PF: Antawn Jamison
While his training camp wasn't great, Twan is still a reliable PF who can put up points when needed most. Despite being undersized, he makes up for it with his athleticism. He is solid on defense, and on the boards, but it is his ability to put up points as a non-option which makes him worth every penny of that lucrative $20 million deal.
SF: Joey Graham
A surprise starter, secound round rookie Joey Graham is in the lineup for defensive purposes. After a very impressive training camp in which he showed sparks of life with his offensive game, near lockdown defense (amazing for a rookie), and above-average rebounding at the position, coach George Karl (aka the fat fuck) couldn't make Graham sit down. He was one of the drafts most underrated players, and will prove to ABCA, that teams made a mistake by letting him slip to the second round.
SG: Jason Richardson
The biggest training camp dissappointment, 'J-Rich' needs to show the world that his play is better than the ratings suggest it will be. He is still the Bucks' second option, and despite the deprovement in defense (though not bad), his outside shot is looking pretty good. Closer to a level where it was two seasons ago with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Playing a new position, Richardson is hoping to prove that he can bounce back from this weak training camp.
PG: Marko Jaric
After the Bucks couldn't see any legitimate fifteenth pick, they decided to trade it to Miami for their starting three, with hopes to convert him to a one. Jaric would bring size to the PG position, and he is about as ready to play PG as any big guard with his above-average handle, solid outside shot, and surprisingly good defense. Jaric told BSPN, "I have always felt that I am a natural PG, and now I have the chance to prove it. With a pretty good cast of players around me."
6th Man: Dejan Bodiroga
The Bucks prized free-agency acquisition an offseason ago, Dejan finds himself starting the season on the bench, behind a secound round rookie. Bodiroga had a pretty bad training camp in which his already bad defense took a pretty big hit. Bucks coach George Karl told BSPN, "with his ability to score, I think he would bring a pretty big spark off the bench. Despite coming off the bench, he should still expect to see playing time, at both swingman positions."
