Most Disappointing Teams Thus Far[/u][/size]
Houston Rockets
Okay yeah this team did dump off Ray Allen and Ben Wallace. They almost nearly dumped Jermaine O'Neal for nothing but this team still has quite a bit of talent. They got Brad Miller, Jermaine O'Neal, Paul Pierce, and Chauncey Billups. However, it's ironic that they're outscoring teams by an average of 2 points a game yet they're 5 games under 500. I didn't expect them to be this poor this early in the season. With those 4 talented guys, this team should be performing much better. Yes - they lack depth but that still doesn't make an excuse for the four stars that they got left on this team.
Orlando Magic
Could we be experiencing the first season in Retro ABCA history that the Orlando Magic don't make the playoffs? I think so. They just traded away Kenyon Martin for a couple of role-players in Detroit. Kenyon Martin was by far their second best player next to Steve Nash. With him gone - this team is going to continue to struggle. If this were a year ago - I'd say that they'd have a chance at making the playoffs. However it seems that the East has gained some talent over the offseason. The 4 bottom seeds in the east all have a dominant go-to-guy. I didn't expect the Magic to be great this year but I didn't expect them to be this bad going into the season.
Cleveland Cavaliers
I had Cleveland as a top 5 team in the entire league. They're only 14-13 and they've already traded Emeka Okafor. They've still got Peja, Crawford, and Maggette but they do not look like they are going to be a team that contends for it all this year. Fortson, Frye, and Todd Mac aren't enough frontline help to bring this team to the top. Instead of being a top team in the league, they now are just a decent playoff team in the east.
Dallas Mavericks
This was another team that I had being ranked possibly as the second or third best team in the entire league. They have the reigning MVP leading their team in Stephon Marbury. It looked like Marbs came into the season poised to repeat but so far - he's been quite lackluster as compared to last year. Latrell Sprewell also came back and improved after training camp but hasn't shown any of that ability thus far. Nenad Krstic has been the lone bright spot for this team so far. He's averaging 10 points and nearly 8 boards in 24 minutes of action. I still think they can pick things up but the only way they do that is if they get some more scoring by Stephon.
