#1 - Boston Celtics - Dwight Howard C 6'11'' 265 22 B C C B B+ B
The Celtics lucked out and jumped from the 4th projected pick, up to #1. Dwight Howard is a consensus, can't miss pick. He should average at least a double-double his rookie year, maybe more.
#2 - New Jersey Nets - Joakim Noah PF 6'11'' 232 22 B- C- C B B- A
The Nets can slide Darko to center and have Noah start at PF. If they can re-sign Barbosa, they'll have a decent core of Darko/Noah/Gordon/Barbosa to build around.
#3 - Seattle Sonics - Gerald Green SG 6'8'' 200 21 B- B- C- B- C B
The Sonics just missed out on addressing their front court needs with the previous two picks. If they don't trade down or move up, I think they'll take Green.
#4 - Cleveland Cavaliers - Marvin Williams SF 6'9'' 230 21 C+ B C B- C A
Marvin Williams will surely get a decent amount of playing time if he ends up in Cleveland. He's got a decent outside game, but he's still more of a tweener in that he may be not be quick enough to guard ABCA SF's. Still, he's got the potential to become a solid starter.
#5 - Washington Wizards - Josh Smith SF 6'9'' 235 21 B C C B C+ A
Although they may take a long look at Tiago Splitter here, I think they'll go with Josh Smith. He's got great hops and isn't shy from going to the hoop. At 6'9", he's also a solid rebounder and defender at SF. His only drawback may be his outside game, or lack of.
#6 - Memphis Grizzlies - Marcus Williams PG 6'3'' 205 22 C+ C B B C A
Beno Udrih and Jason Williams are both expiring, and Jarret Jack doesn't look to quite be starter material. Marcus Williams is the pick here, and why not. Williams is a good ball handler and defender, and has good height and size.
#7 - Memphis Grizzlies (Via DAL) - Tiago Splitter PF 6'11'' 236 22 B- C D C+ B A
By addressing their PG need, the Grizzlies will go big and nab the 6'11" Brazilian. He's got decent size, and outside of Dwight Howard, he's one the better rebounders in this draft. He's your prototypical European big man, in terms of his preference to play outside instead of banging inside. Still, Splitter may be able to overcome his shortcomings and definitely has the potential to do so.
#8 - New Orleans Hornets - Rudy Gay SF 6'9'' 220 21 B C C B- C A
They need a SF, and Rudy Gay is the best available at this point. He might not be as polished as Josh Smith, but Rudy definitely has comparable talent and perhaps more upside.
#9 - Cleveland Cavaliers (Via CHI) - Marco Belinelli SG 6'6'' 200 21 C+ B C B- C- B
The Cavs will be happy if they can select both Marvin Willams and now Marco Bellinelli. Bellinelli is a good shooter and has no problem jacking up 3's. He's a decent ball handler, but he definitely needs to get inside more often. Some teams wonder if he can improve, but if he does, he'll be a solid player for years to come.
#10 - Los Angeles Lakers (Via GSW) - Rajon Rondo PG 6'1'' 171 21 C+ C B- B C- B
The Lakers could use a backup PG, and Rondo could be the likely choice. He is a solid defender and decent ball handler, but isn't quite as effective with his shooting. Nonetheless, he should be a decent backup his rookie campaign and perhaps a starter one day.
#11 - Atlanta Hawks (Via SAN) - Aaron Gray C 7'1'' 280 23 C+ D C- B- B- A
Not too sure what they're looking at here, maybe somebody like Sergio Rodriguez, but I think they'll go with Aaron Gray. He's got size and potential, if the Hawks can't use him, I'm sure they'll find somebody that can.
#12 - Toronto Raptors - Brandon Rush SG 6'6'' 202 22 C+ B- C B- C A
They could use a SG, and he'd be a decent backup if they can resign Dwayne Wade. He's not too likely going to be a shutdown defender or take over the game with his scoring, but he has a solid, all-around game.
#13 - New Orleans Hornets (Via PHO) - Al Jefferson PF 6'10'' 256 22 B F+ C C B- B
With Joe Smith as their starting PF, Al Jefferson is an interesting prospect and could be a good gamble for the Hornets. His biggest drawbacks are his terrible shooting touch, and his soft defense. On the positive side, he has good size, can score in the paint and is a decent rebounder.
#14 - Los Angeles Lakers (Via MIA) - Al Horford PF 6'10'' 245 21 C+ C- C B C+ A
Al Horford is one more better defenders available at PF in this draft, and he should be able to step in and play a backup role in the ABCA next season. He's a good ball handler and passer for somebody his size. He could very well go earlier than #14, and with a decent training camp, he could very well end up a steal.
#15 - New Jersey Nets (Via DET) - Sergio Rodriguez PG 6'3'' 168 21 C+ B C+ B- D A
Even if they do re-sign Leandrino Barbosa, the Nets would love to have Sergio develop as their backup PG. He has good size for a PG at 6'3" and is still quite young at just 21. His pure point guard skills must get better, as his ability to run an offense isn't quite there yet.
#16 - San Antonio Spurs (Via MIL) - Mustafa Shakur PG 6'3'' 183 23 C C+ B- B D+ B
With Yotam Helperin listed as their only PG, Shakur more than fills a need for the Spurs. The fact that he's 23 is what keeps him from going before the other 2 PGs (Rondo and Rodriguez).
#17 - Minnesota Timberwolves - Luc Richard Mbah a Moute SF 6'7'' 230 21 B- C C C+ B- A
Maybe Corey Brewer goes here, but I think they'll go with the SF from UCLA. He has decent ratings, but like much of the other draft eligible players this year, appear to be soft on the defensive end.
#18 - Indiana Pacers - Corey Brewer SG 6'8'' 183 21 C C+ C B C- B
Corey Brewer is one of the top defenders available at SG, but he is too ineffective on the offensive end. He probably won't do a whole lot on the offensive end, but he'll play defense and he has good size at 6'8".
#19 - Los Angeles Lakers (Via ORL) - Patrick O'Bryant C 7'0'' 250 21 C D+ C- B C+ A
The Lakers have stated they could use another C, so they'll likely take a good look at O'Bryant.
#20 - Milwaukee Bucks (Via HOU) - Jackie Butler PF 6'10'' 260 22 B- D C- B- C+ A
This team would've loved someone like Mustafa Shakur or Sergio Rodriguez here, but I think they'll be lone gone by the time their pick comes up.
#21 - Philadelphia 76ers - Nick Fazekas PF 6'11'' 235 22 B C C C+ C+ B
If Fazekas can improve his rebounding and defensive abilities in training camp, he could very well end up being a steal for Philly. He's one of the better inside scorers in this draft, and has good size for PF.
#22 - Sacramento Kings - Mirza Teletovic SF 6'8'' 240 22 C+ B- C+ B- C B
The Kings could use a SF and Teletovic should be their guy. He's got a good all around game. He's a decent ball handler, defender and shooter. He doesn't excel at any one area, but he isn't very weak at anything either.
#23 - New Orleans Hornets (Via LAL) - Kyle Visser C 6'11'' 250 21 B- C- C- C B- A
Visser is a decent scorer and rebounder, but his defense is lacking for the ABCA level. Still, he's fairly talented and he could turn out to be a good investment despite his shortcomings.
#24 - Denver Nuggets - Rudy Fernandez SG 6'6'' 172 22 C+ B- C C+ C- A
Probably the best available guard, the Nuggets will likely take the Spaniard if he's still available.
#25 - New York Knicks - J.R. Giddens SG 6'5'' 205 22 C B- B- C C- B
They have a lot of big bodies, but not a lot of guards. Giddens is pretty soft defensively, but he's got good court vision and handles for a SG. A bit of a project, but he may be worth it.
#26 - Los Angeles Clipeers - Sean Williams C 6'10'' 235 21 C C- D+ B- C+ B
Sean Williams was a shotblocking wizard in college, swatting around 5 blocks a game. The Clippers have expressed interest in him, so I think he goes here.
#27 - Washington Wizards (Via UTA) - Johan Petro C 7'0'' 247 21 C+ C- C B- C+ A
They need a big body. Petro, while pretty raw offensively and defensively, will likely find a way into the 1st round because of his height and potential alone.
#28 - Portland Trailblazers - Martynas Andriukevicius C 7'3'' 240 21 C+ D- C B C+ C
Andriukevicius is one of the better defensive centers in the draft, and he could turn out to be another Mile Ilec for the Blazers.
#29 - Atlanta Hawks - Yannick Bokolo PG 6'4'' 180 22 C+ C+ B- C+ C- B
If they haven't taken a PG by now, Bokolo is worth a look. He's got decent all around talents and with a lucky training camp, could look something like B- B- B B- C. Although that's not too likely, he could be a good backup type PG someday.
