Jazz gm bjscho23, the mastermind behind the biggest disappointment in the ABCA, has been hospitalized due to depression according to the Salt Lake Tribune.
Apparently while watching Anderson Varejao attempt a pick and roll with Jarrius Jackson, bjscho23 was seen taking a number of antidepressants and a whole bottle of Vodka. During the 4th quarter of the game bjscho23 was taken away in a strait jacket yelling, "i hate you, i hate you all" and "why do you suck so bad" followed by another "i hate you Emeka Suckafor" in reference to Jazz big man Emeka Okafor.
The Jazz had decent hopes to start the season but then dealt with Seattle early on to get Okafor. In the trade the Jazz gave up a very good shooting guard in JR Smith, Michael Beasley and the Jazz 1st round pick for this draft. With the Jazz now near the bottom of the league in wins, that pick will more than likely turn out to be a top 3 pick if not the top pick in the draft. Jazz fans are calling for bjscho23's heads. The last home game saw 730 fans at the game to cheer on the team with all of them protesting the teams play by leaving at halftime. Team owner Larry Miller will have some decisions to make this offseason as bjscho23's contract is up at the end of the season.
With a big 3 of Okafor, Chris Paul and Kwame Brown more was expected out of the Jazz. The team has all the makings of a good defensive team but simply can't score enough points. Offensive liabilities at small forward and shooting guard have come back to haunt the team and trading the youth and picks doesn't help them in the long term either. Paul has gone so far as to demand a trade. "I'm a winner. I won a title and then thought that I'd play for Utah. I'm questioning my judgement right now. I didn't sign on for this. I just don't see how we are that bad. We have some good players, some good defenders but our chemistry just struggles. I was hoping that Pietrus would do better for us but he isn't doing anything. My Mom could score 5 points a game in 30 minutes of playing time. We've tried everyone at small forward also and it just isn't happening there. I don't fault the gm, I fault the guys in the locker room. But if it isn't working then I'd just rather move on."
The Jazz have a few games left in this depressing season. As they drag to the end the future looks murky at best in Salt Lake City.
