Magic send: Grant Hill
Hornets send: Glen Rice Pacers 00 1st 76ers 00 1st
So, let me have it. I know I took myself pretty much out of competition this year, but I got 2 lotto picks... that's something.... right?

I said New Orleans right now just because they get a great player who's still got many years ahead of him...plus basically its like they swapped Eddie Jones for Grant Hill.
But in the long run....this might be better off for the Magic..

Pete, bump that thread about not trading lotto picks to John for somebody going on 28 next season.
2 Guaranteed lotto picks in an amazing draft for Grant Hill? WTF? So John doesn't win it all this year but gets two better players in the long run to win next season or the year after, awesome move.
2 Great youth to build around>>>>Grant Hill, jebus.

All depends on whether or not those draft picks he gets turn out to be close to the player that Grant Hill is.

i "might" slip into playoffs "might" is a push, there are 4 teams in your division alone better then you for next season. I'm not saying Hill isn't amazing, but 2! lotto picks? 1 yeah, but not two. Plus Rice is expiring, so not only does John get 2 lottos, he gets 10 million coming off the cap to go after Ben Wallace, Ray Allen, etc... New Orleans would have been better off keeping both picks and using that cap themselves to better the situation.

76ers have a nice young team, they could be solid. Not playoffs, but a high lotto. Pacers pick is solid since it's a deep draft and G Rice and his expiring is nice. I don't think it's that bad. Definitely better for NO right now. Really depends where Philly ends up.

Philly's whole team relies on resigning Camby, and Cambys only goal is Play for Winner.....don't see that in Philly. Barkley is Old, and Wally's decent, nowhere near enough for playoffs next year. To many better teams.
East playoff teams next season:
1. Orlando 2. Detroit 3. Atlanta 4. Toronto 5. New York 6. New Jersey 7. Chicago 8. Boston
Not to mention if Miami can continue. All of those teams are MUCH better then these 2 picks.
So basically looking at the draft, NO gave up the chance of: Pau Gasol, Jason Richardson, Battier, Joe Johnson, Richard Jefferson, Troy Murphy, Zach Randolph, Tony Parker, Gilbert Arenas, not to mention any early entrants. Try telling me you'd rather have Hill then the chance of two of these guys? I'd rather rebuild with a combo of any 2 of these guys then 1 Grant Hill.

Memphis, you are looking at the wrong draft, and TPark is 19....
These were picks in THIS year's draft, not next years...

John wins this trade and every other trade that he does.

Just something to add....Magic will not have cap room to go after Max FA's this year unless more trades are made.

I wasn't planning on an FA spending spree this year..
I have considered it, I'd hafta move Rik, but if I believe in JO and my 3 picks, I could go into FA with 20 or so million I bet...
But right now, the Hill move was made for long term spending reasons. This will keep my hard cap well at bay for many years..
And with Mobley on my squad now, I only need a 3, and this draft is chalked full of guys who can see time at the 3.

If Orlando gets Kirilenko....what a frontline the Magic would have.
