Is Polynice really really bad? Seems like everyone is saying so. He wasn't terrrible when he was playing with me last season. I just think the Raps probably could've found a better deal though... I can agree with this.. although olden has slipped the past Tc or two after his break out one a few years back. My issue is that toronto could have gotten more from houston (or houston would have no budged as usual on giving a pick and moved on) OR he could have gotten a better deal elsewhere that gives him more of a long term fix.

I don't see how the raps and their current roster with Mcdyess a true pf and Gugliotta a true sf playing out of position as center and powerforward will lead the Raptors to a top 4 seed. But i guess i woulnd't have expected 4-9 for me either. But do you think with Olden at C it helps their chances? I hope not or I have you all wrong as a capable GM.

I think that Olden as a backup 4 and 5 certainly helps there chances more than playing Jamie Feick 20 minutes a game.

The Raptors didn't even necessarily need to get a pick this year to make it worthwhile in IMO....as long as he got a first that could possibly be nice in the future like in 2002 or 2003 or something.

yes but is the point of the trade committee to see if someoen gets every last bit that they can get? Would any trade ever even get done if everyone was trying to always get more and more? (yes aaron you are right about me, i don't budge too often)

Yeah but Joe, in order to get Olden to play Feick's 20mpg he had to give up his MVP for some overpaid Mid Level scrub. Is that really a swap that is worth it?
Lakers, I agree to a point, maybe I over value D, but when someone drops major letter grades, you see their value quickly diminish. But yes, I feel any future 1st would have balanced this trade out. If they were making a youth move, atleast get an extra piece to trade or draft with,.

And you would give in if people started calling your bluff. You'll deal, you always will.

would doug really have given dale davis and mario owens or loy vaught and mario owens for mookie? I am sure he would have given Brad but lets face it, who wants Brad at a 2 year 22 million dollar deal?

This isn't an attack on you at all Houston, but like John said, you prolly got an All Star for absolutely nothing. The committee isn't trying to make sure every inch of deal is fair, but this is an insane stretch to say the least. So much for the Raptors making a push.

Davis has been talked in NY and Loy has been rumored in Chicago, so to get back a Porter replacement in Mookie, I think he definately would have made that trade. With Muresan he has 4 capable big men.

Yeah I just feel sometimes a guy like Ruben Patterson (C+ C- D+ A- C- B) might get more respect among GMs than a guy like Aaron McKie (C B+ C B C C). Patterson as a swingman doesn't even have a solid outside shot to fall back on while McKie does despite his average defense.

oh don't worry, i do not think its an attack on me in anyway. I am saying that I think vetoing a deal between two long term solid capable gms is a very bad idea no matter what. Once you have been here so many years I would hope you would have the freedom to make any moves you would like. I know I wouldn't tell you or John, or Swoosh, or Pete or Prezz that they couldn't do a deal even if it looked like they didn't get enough(ie look at some of JOhns deals from last year) because you guys have more than proven your ability to run a successful team. I believe that Seer falls into that category as well and those are the types of gms we need to keep and trust to keep this a great league.

His hold up was dealing 2 of em, but he is more than willing to deal any 1 of em.
He can afford to keep Brad, he is a good player anyway. Sure not worth a huge contract, but he allow Davis, Loy or Gheorge to be moved without question.
When you have an immediate need in the back court and for scoring you make that move, and he would have.
But now maybe he brings in JR Rider from NY...
