You guys are really on some other stuff here i mean last year people thought KMart was for sure number 1 before Cavs took AK47. His ratings last year were the same as Yaos maybe a little less of a rebounder. Is it a bad trade, probably but i dont see it as a complete rip off.

And Drew, why give up the Nets pick, was #1 not enough?! Yeah thats what I was wondering too...If he just traded his pick, that would've been fine but the fact that he had to throw in the Nets' pick was questionable.

Yeh but the difference is that Yao has K-Mart's ratings plus size - 7'5, 296...not to mention I do believe that Yao will add another inch in two years to that height. Here's my take....I just feel as though this is an offseason deal...particularly after the draft lottery is done because it's not always guranteed that your pick goes #1 even if you have the worst record or that the draft class is done by then. And also, I don't like that you gave the Nets' first also.

i dont see a huge lopside in this trade, but rockets just got themselves someone just as good as kmart(RJ/Jrich/Gasol/Yao)...+ my 1st which is mid round.
so i mean its bad trade either way, but i do like it for houston more.

Did you ever think people were saying that to get Cleveland to take him #1? He wasn't a "consensus" #1 since 3 teams (myself included) passed on KMART. Kmart =/= Yao or Pau.. Their size puts them in a nother league than him.

Their size puts them in a nother league than him. Kenyon Martin was a number one overall pick in last years draft...only two teams passed up on him - you and Cleveland. You had no need for Kenyon Martin so the obvious choices would've either been Artest or Baron for you. But I do agree that Yao's size moreso than Pau's gives him a clearer advantage over Kenyon Martin but it's not like Kenyon Martin can't as skilled as Pau even though he has 3 inches on him. Brand is great and he's 6'8....I'd take him any day.
