Cavs trade: Pau Gasol Gilbert Arenas Mike James Dennis Scott Shandon Anderson
Magic trade: Kevin Garnett Jeff McInnis
Who got the better end of this deal? I think we both benefit from this trade, because I start to build my own team and have three young studs now, and the Cavs are building a powerhouse in Cleveland.

I lost 2 studs, but I gained KG and dumped Mike James. I say both as well.

KG, Mashburn, and Jason Richardson make the Cavaliers a top 3 team in the east.

You DON'T trade KG. It could work out for the Magic, but they won't win a ring.

I didnt want to win a ring this year with a team I didnt put any of it together. I think the two I got will make up for KG in the next few seasons. I admit he is a stud and it was a huge risk, but I like that I have a PG now and when I get Artest back my team is going to be tough to beat.

You keep thinking that, and we'll see who has a better chance in a few years.

Gilbert Arenas is going to be good. Pau Gasol will be good.
The reason why John's Magic teams were so good because he had the participation points to make his players better. James is an active enough GM to produce that same kind of activity so I wouldn't be surprised if a couple upgrades to Pau and Arenas get done in the upcoming years.

Hey believe it or not I asked for this trade. I dont care what you guys think, I did not want to keep a team that I didnt put together. KG is one guy, I replaced him with Gasol and now I have a PG, which I feel made my team a lot better.

That was a crap trade.

That was a crap trade. that wasn't a crap trade, i upped my defense and picked up an actual 2 instead of trying to figure out who on my team could pretend to be one. sorry if it gets you all fired up that i thought it was a bad trade, next time i'll stop to think about whether or not i will offend you before i post again

$150,937,500 over the next 6 years is WAY too much up your defense at the shooting guard position....especially since that move was not one that was going to put you into championship contention let alone playoff contention. Think about it...do you really want to pay someone that much money long term if it doesn't mean you're not going to win a championship?
You've been here a while and should know how tough it is to make the playoffs in the Western Conference. The move involving Sprewell and Finley was not a move that was going to boost you into playoff contention.
That is why it is a crap trade for you. Great deal for the Pistons.
