Los Angelas Lakers
1.) Chris Bosh
Analysis: This is a solid pick considering Lakers gaps and the consenus that he is number one. However, the lakers don't seem to agree with that and it seems like Bosh is eventually going to be traded. If Lakers didn't like Bosh they should have traded down a few picks or just taken Gordon or Paul. People would've question Paul or Gordon at one but the Lakers probably will lose value trying to trade Bosh now considering teams know his dissatisfaction.
Grade: B
Denver Nuggets
2. ) Chris paul
Analysis: This pick doesn't make sense to me since Nuggets already have a starting point guard in Gilbert Arenas and back-up in Chris Duhon. The only way this trade can be justified if Arenas or Paul are put in at shooting guard. The best choice would've been Ben Gordon but now it looks like Arenas could end up being traded.
Grade: C-
New Jersey Nets
3. ) Ben Gordon
Analysis: This is a great pick by the Nets since they could use a shooting guard and he is a consenus top 3. Gordon should immediately step in being an option for the team and be a starter. He perfectly fits the Nets youth movement.
Grade: A
Atlanta Hawks
4. ) Deron Williams
Analysis: Deron is a great long term choice since Kenny Anderson looks close to retirement. Williams probably will end up with decent back-up minutes but he does definately have potential to take over in a year or two. On top of that the hawks are probably going to end up sinking a ton of pps in him.
Grade: A
Utah Jazz
5. ) Charlie Villanueva
Analysis: So after a day were they trade premier point guard Kirk Hinrich they get Charlie V? I mean this picks leaves them with no backcourt. Charlie V definately has skill but he is going to get stuck behind Kirelenko, Garnett, and Haywood. The best he can do is back-up. If anything they are going to either suck again this year or have to make another trade to make up for their horrible trade and draft pick.
Grade: F
New Orleans Hornets
6.) Nate Robinson
Analysis: This is a bad choice since Nate could've easily dropped to 15-25 and taking him at 6. If they wanted him this bad they could have tried to trade down and grab more picks or another player. If they wanted a better point guard they should've grabbed Raymond Felton.
Grade: F
Indiana Pacers
7.) Gerald Wallace
Analysis: The Pacers are definately rebuilding and Wallace is a good choice. He has the best defence in this draft class and he should definately walk in and be a key contributor.
Grade: A
Dallas Mavericks
8.) Nenad Krstic
Analysis: Krstic is a solid choice, the Mavericks need depth and Krstic gives them a third man in their post rotation. Krstic should give them some offence coming off the bench and has some potential.
Grade: B
Memphis Grizzlies
9.) Eddie Griffin
Analysis: Grizzlies definately to rebuild, Griffin is a good choice but they need to trade away Stojakovic. I mean you have an MVP calibre player who is beginning to age. If they are able to resign Shaq they should also consider trading him too since they need picks and young players instead of aging MVP calibre players.
Grade: B+
Utah Jazz
10.) Channing Frye
Analysis: This draft pick makes the Jazz look worse then the previous choice of Charlie V does. I mean you get another post player and totally lack any back court. The Jazz could've grabbed the likes of Gerald Wallace and Raymond Felton in this time span, instead they grab two post players who will get limited minutes.
Grade: F
Boston Celtics:
11.) Raymond Felton
Analysis: This is a questionable choice since Michael Wiz looks like a good future point guard and Felton could just end up a back-up. The Celtics definately have some holes on their team but all of them Wiz looks like a lock at point guard. The Celtics should have went after an upgrade over Davis or a post player.
Grade: D-
Minnesota Timberwolves
12.) Rashad McCants
Analysis: This is a weird choice since this gives the Timberwolves four swingmen. McCants definately gives the Twolves an upgrade at shooting guard, however, they could definately use another post player.
Grade: C-
Washington Wizards
13.) Fran Vazquez
Analysis: This a great choice for the wizards since if Yao is gone it would leave them with no post players or if he resigns they have a complete line-up. Vazquez probably could end up with a starting spot but will be subpar in that role. Vazquez really needs a good tc to help the Celtics this season.
Grade: B
Miami Heat
14.) Julius Hodge
Analysis: This seems a bit for the Heat to take Hodge since he really lacks any defence. The Heat needed to fill their small forward position and Hodge, if he ends up there is a weird choice. The Heat should have went after Warrick who's natural position is small forward and has alot more potential than Hodge.
Grade: F+
New Jersey Nets
15.) Sean May
Analysis: This is a great choice for the Nets since they lack a front court. May has a ton of potential to be a great player for them. His size might be somewhat of a knock but for a power forward he isn't really fundamentally challenged.
Grade: B+
Los Angelas Lakers
16.) Ndubi Ebi
Analysis: The Lakers make a great choice for the Lakers since he should give them a nice offensive punch. He may not have a ton of potential but he doesn't have any weaknesses and pretty good rebounding for a small forward.
Grade: B
Seattle Sonics
17.) Hakim Warrick
Analysis: This is a good choice, the Sonics don't really have much to work around and Sonics just need young players. Warrick will step in being a key contributor but probably won't contribute alot to this team.
Analysis: B+
Atlanta Hawks
18.) Ike Diogu
Analysis: Hawks are pretty deep at every position with the exception to post. Diogu isn't going to help much right now but he might get some back-up minutes. Diogu is a player that should contribute to this championship team in a few years, right now he injects some youth into the Hawks post and gives them some depth.
Grade: B+
Seattle Sonics
19.) Antoine Wright
Analysis: This is a decent choice and keeps with their theme of rebuilding. Wright definately has some offence and some potential. However, with players like Stromile Swift, Allen Iverson, and Kirk Hinrich contributing offensively the Sonics probably should have grabed a defensively minded small forward instead of offensive.
Grade: C-
Sacremento Kings
20.) Luther Head
Analysis: For a team like the Kings the best choice would've been to grab a post player. Head is a strange choice since they have williams. Head could be used at shooting guard but he is somewhat undersized for that position. For a point guard Head seems to really have the hands he should.
Grade: D-
Phoenix Suns
21.) Danny Granger
Analysis: This is a real steal for the suns. Granger gives them some depth and if they don't end up with a power forward soon they could use him as an undersized power forward or small forward.
Grade: A
Los Angelas Lakers
22.) DeAngelo Collins
Analysis: For the Lakers this kind of seems a weird choice. Collins will be a 24 year old rookie which doesn't make much sense for the Lakers. Collins gives them an offensive punch but his potential is questionable. There are definately question marks about Collins but overall a decent choice.
Grade: C+
Detroit Pistons
23.) Ronny Turiaf
Analysis: Turiaf for the Pistons is a good choice. They don't really have a clear power forward and right now they need either Turiaf or David Lee to take the position. Pistons do have other needs but right now it is hard to tell what they need since their teams look like most of their players could either bust or breakout at tc.
Grade: C+
Orlando Magic
24.) Wayne Simein
Analysis: Magic's only real gapping hole is their lack of depth at post. Simien definately fills the void for them and could end up getting key minutes with a good tc.
Grade: B
Atlanta Hawks
25.) Jarrett Jack
Analysis: For the Hawks this a weird choice since currently they have three point guards above him. They could end up using him at shooting guard but with their depth it doesn't make sense. I wouldn't fail this since a team like the hawks usually have something up their sleeve when they do this but from point of view this doesn't make sense to me.
Grade: D-
