Last year the Jazz had a horrible season. Sticking around the bottom of the standings for most of the season. They kicked it into full gear at the end of the season and most Jazz fans hope they can continue how they played at the end of last year. The Jazz finished with the 11th worst record in the league and this year their totally revamped. Two new starters bring a new spice to the team. With training camp starting tonight you get can your real first look at this new team! Here is the starting lineup for the Utah Jazz..
Returning to start at center for the Utah Jazz, Brendan Haywood.
Haywood had to go through a lot in the summer hearing his name in many trade rumors. Ever since coming to the Utah Jazz, Haywood has gotten better every year. Last year he averaged a double double scoring more than 11 points per game and grabbing over 10 rebounds per game. Haywood went through a lot in the off season and is still hearing them as we speak. Rumors have it that the Jazz are harassing many teams to package Haywood and Jesus Redd for an upgrade at center. They have talked with several teams like the Rockets but have failed. Who knows what his fate is the Jazz might just have to live with him which won't be a horrible thing. Haywood should be stepping up and playing his hardest this year because he is in his contract year.
Returning for the second year to start at power forward for the Utah Jazz former MVP, Kevin Garnett.
Kevin Garnett is coming of the roughest year of his career. In the first year playing for the Utah Jazz he only played 58 games. He went through many ankle problems but he is now ready to rock and roll. He told the press that he is 100% and he guarantees that the Jazz will make a high seed in the playoffs. Kevin Garnett hopes to gain some of his respect back after not winning MVP last season. Kevin has won most valuable player 4 years straight and once he was traded to the Utah Jazz he lost it. He hopes to win MVP for the first time in Utah this season. Kevin is going to be key if the Jazz want to win a championship.
Coming back for his third season starting at small forward for the Utah Jazz, Andrei Kirkilenko.
Andrei Kirilenko has broken out ever since he joined the Utah Jazz. He has dominated ever since he was traded to the Jazz from the Cavaliers. Last year he averaged career highs in points per game and blocks per game. Andrei is expected to play a big role if the Jazz want to win a championship. He is the defensive shutter and defends all the other teams go to player. Andrei has also heard trade rumors though. Before the Jazz traded for Chris Duhon he was heard to be going to the Magic for Steve Nash. Well hopefully Kirilenko can stay on track and stay healthy and help lead the Utah Jazz to a championship!
Introducing the new back court for the Utah Jazz. Well first of all starting at shooting guard one of the best in the game, Michael Redd!
Michael Redd is coming of an amazing season for the Atlanta Hawks. He is coming from one championship team to a contender. Redd dominated to help the Hawks win a championship and now he is in Utah where they are trying to do the same. The Jazz last season had a really rough time because of their glitch at the shooting guard position. Now that they have a pure shooting guard and one of the best in the game they have no reason why they shouldn't be in the playoffs. When traded the Jazz Redd had this to say "Its tough leaving a championship team to go to a lottery team but I feel like this team is going places and I feel were good enough to win a championship this year. I am excited to play with Kevin and Andrei and young Chris Duhon".
Starting at point guard for the first time in his career for the Utah Jazz, Chris Duhon.
This is a huge risk for the Utah Jazz. Chris Duhon will be starting for them and if he could be an above average point guard and lead this team then this team is destined to go someplace. Chris Duhon has never started for a team and but rating wise he does seem ready to. Chris came to Utah with pretty decent ratings. He came in with C inside and then the Jazz trained him really hard and now he has B- inside. If Chris can come in and put up 8-10 assists per game then this team has 4 all stars.
