So many said that the Warriors organization wasn't heading in the right direction when they put all the money they did in the big man from Lithuania Zydrunas Ilgauskas, and the contract they gave to Gordan Giricek that they would struggle to make it over .500 at any time in the season.
Well just over the halfway point the Warriors are indeed proving many of the skeptics wrong as the team is currently sitting in the 7th position and only a game and a half out of 5th position. Over the last couple of weeks the Warriors have turned it on after a very slow start and are making a push behind the second year man Ronnie Brewer and Zydrunas Ilgauskas stepping up their game, trying everything that they can to help get this franchise back into the playoffs. It has definitely been an exciting time for this franchise which over the past couple of years has been lacking for something to cheer for but now they have it once more and who knows what will happen the rest of the season, but remember though stranger things have happened.
In hindsight this team is still for the most part young and has loads of room to grow but it is still a goal to make the playoffs, and if that isn't meant it might be a let down, but at the same time the experience of being close to making it is a huge step up all the same. The faces of the franchise are immensely different from the last time this team was in the franchise, but now the marquee will show Brewer, Hansborough, Ilgauskas,Tinsley, and Giricek. Whether or not they are household names or not they are the Golden State Warriors a team in rebuilding but almost at the same time a playoff team in the making.
