Nuggets clinch Midwest Division title
Denver, CO -- (AP)
Heading into this season, expectations were greater than before. Denver managed to go 50-32 last season, but also made an exit in the 1st round to the Los Angeles Lakers in 7 games. Although they made no significant signings or trades in the off-season, Denver certainly had set it's sights on making the playoffs for a 3rd straight season.
Although they had gotten off to somewhat of a slow start, injuries to starters Chris Paul and Nene Hilario ensured that Denver needed to shape up very soon. "I think any team would be hard pressed to replace those 2 players. But like anything else, we'll deal with it and carry on as usual." commented GM dasm0kesh0w2474.

Shortly after, Denver managed to pull off a significant trade with the Utah Jazz. The Nuggets shipped off SF Vince Carter and a future 1st round pick in exchange for C Tim Duncan. And although Chris Paul and Nene Hilario were still sidelined with injuries at the time, the addition of Tim Duncan to the starting lineup seemed to spark Denver. "Vince was great his whole tenure here. He's an exciting player and definitely a scorer, but we saw an opportunity to improve our squad. That's just the nature of the business, so we wish him the best of luck." commented GM dasm0kesh0w2474.

While the injuries certainly took it's toll on the team this season, the Nuggets earned their 1st division title under dasm0kesh0w's reign as GM. And for all their hard work, they get to face a Houston team led by the likes of Jermaine O'neal, Chauncey Billups, and Paul Pierce. Denver has everybody finally healthy, and they are expecting a tough series with the Rockets. "They're a good team. What more can I say, except we'll need to prevent their offense from going on shooting streaks, and not allow any easy baskets in the paint."
