Last night the L.A. Clippers finalized the resigning of GM Jaybourne, and the Hiring of GM and Head Coach boomerpurser. The Clippers and their former GM seemed to part ways in good faith and the best wishes each other. There were no force outs or disputes causing resignations. Jaybourne stated that he loved the team and love the game, but GM just isn't fun for him anymore. The Clippers Organization released this statement: "Jaybourne has went on to bigger and better things that he has wanted to do for year, but just hasn't had the time while GMing a professional basketball team. God bless and God speed, we will miss him."
The New GM boomerpurser isn't a stranger to the league though. Purser GMed the Sonics in the late 90s, but had to quite before the completion of his second season due to family issues. Purser former players remember him as being a hard nosed, sweet on the brow, work horse coach. This is what some had to say:
Allen Iverson: Coach Purser ain't no joke, You know I don't like to practice and showed up when I wanted to. Not with him, he benched me for 5 games one time for missing practice. Traded to get old ass Tim Hardaway encase I gots out of hand. Trust me he don't play, you better bring your towel."
Joe Smith: "Coach Purser doesn't want he requires winners, which is why many think he walked on us. He'll make you a better player though."
Gheorghe Muresan: "He made fun of the way I talked and always told me I played ball like a special ed student during puberty. I hated that Bastard."
Coach Purser had many down falls, but was hindered by a turmoiled family life. Now he's back focused and ready to regain the respect and confidence of his fellow GM and Coaches, but most of all players.
boomerpurser agreed to have a press conference in the up coming week. At his conference he will discuss: The liberties he has GM and Head Coach, the present season, future season, and the financial situation the Clippers are in.
