The Los Angeles Clippers have made alot of changes over the last year. They brought in new staff all the way from GM/coach to the logistical side of the franchise. It seems that many other ABCA organizations out there haven't properly been introduced to the new staff and players, even though the GM/Coach has been in the league before and has been the Clipps GM since half-way through the last season.
Along With the new GM has come a couple of new faces. Some new to the team and others new to the league its' self. The Clippers were able to build a nice young core of solid athletes, due to the labors of the last GM. GM Purser also had his contributions to this up and coming team.
The new GM figured out what was best for his team and went for it. what was that you say, anyone with a clue could have guessed Oden and Durant was best for the team. What you don't see is the GM passed on multiple offers for superstars such as Amare Stoudamire, Boris Diaw, T-Mac, and Lebron. He passed on the temptation to win now for a solid young core for years to come. He also brought in one of the game premier SG in D-Wade to form a solid young team, that should be able to compete for a title.
Here is you glance in to the new face of the Clippers:
Starting at Center is Jim James Jr.: Jr is a big surprise to the league. Draft with the 1rst pick in the second round and not expected to contribute a whole lot, has worked his way into the starting five position. With his big body he's been able to help clog the lane.
GM's Corner: Look for James to open up trade negotiations. While JJJ is a very good center at a good price, he just doesn't fit in to the new GM's style of B-Ball. GM Purser had been over heard saying ''If your going to be 7'5'' you better have more than 1.9 Blocks and 9 boards.
<----Ignore the Rick and sub in Jim
Starting at Power Forward is Greg Oden: Oden comes in after only his second year at Ohio State. He maybe the oldest 20 year old in the world, and was offered a handy cap parking pass the first time he arrived at the stadium. Oden was know for his uncanny ability to block and redirect shots. He has also began to be a big inside offensive threat toward the end of his first season with the Buckeyes.
GM's Corner: Oden is staying and may slide into the Starting Center job. That is if James gets traded. Oden is definitely a keeper and it would take a tremendous amount to swindle him away from the Clippers.
<----New face of Depends.
Starting at Small Forward is Kevin Durant: Durant maybe most all-around talented player to enter the draft since Lebron. He's as fast as a point guard, as tall as a center, and shoots lights out. His Defense is great coming into the league as a rookie. Not to mention this kid can tower over most swing men, and then step down low and hold his own as a PF.
GM's Corner: Durant is the focal point of the new Clippers. If everyone gets traded he'll be the last to go. Look for the coach to invest most of his time in this kid. He maybe the next MJ, Kobe, Lebron, and so on.
Starting at Shooting Guard is Dwayne Wade: Wade is Wade, know as one of the best at what he does. While some say he hasn't lived up to his potential, boomerpurser said "you can't expect a player to be a super human. If he's scoring 20 plus a game, grabbing 5 boards, and throwing 4 dimes, what more can you ask for. Especially when you've played or playing with some of the talents he has on the team.
GM's Corner: D-Wade will stay. He'll be used as the number one option and team Captain until either Oden or Durant steps up with the maturity and ability to take the responsibility.
Starting at Point Guard is Devin Harris: Harris is a great PG. He has very good court vision and is able to pop shots from anywhere. He's been the leader of the team for a couple years now, but was just dethroned with the arrival of D-Wade. Although captains the team at breaks, in the locker room, and during practice; when it comes to the game, Harris is definitely the floor general.
GM's Corner: Harris is pretty aggravated at his removal as team captain. He has requested to be included in on any discussions of trade offers for him. He's not sure if he wants to be trade, but doesn't mind going to a team that need a young, but veteran PG to step up into a leadership role.
<---Rumored to be Mario's hand.
Clippers' Beast of the Bench are J.R. Smith, Malik Hairston, Josh Boone, and Fransisco Garcia. Each of these players play a vital role for the success or our team. J.R. Smith could start at SG for a lot of teams out there. Hairston is a good reserve for a tired swing man, and Boone is a rebounding beast. Garcia offers a bit of veteran leadership and has a damn good long ball.
<---Scary as hell.
The Method behind the Madness Coach and GM of the Clippers Boomer Purser: Likes to reap the benefits of coming in behind a great GM like JayBorne. Purser is always looking for a trade to better his team. It's hard for him to pass over the chance to win now for a better future. GM Purser has been called a very confrontational person, but then again everyone's a bad ass behind a key board.
Please send questions to the GM's Corner and they will be answered an posted.
