I think the Bulls will be better, but not sure that will translate to a run into the finals.

If (and its a big if) Amare is back to his old form, the Suns have a very strong shot. As for the Rockets- you are right an injury to Yao/Mac would probably hurt their chances (but to say that if they 'go down for 2 weeks the season is over' is pure bullshit). Battier would make a better PF than Juwan Howard. He is an above-average rebounder/shotblocker at the SF position to join Bonzi at the other forward who is also above-average in that catagory. He isn't going to take on top-notch PFs one-on-one- we have Yao anchoring our interior defense, all Battier is going to have to do is play weakside D (and he does that much better than Juwan Howard). Plus he can stretch defenses with his shooting. They are weak at the PG-spot, but Lucas/Spanolious both showed promise in the summer league and world championships respectively, plus Sura might be healthy. As for the bench- it is solid. Dikembe, Howard, Snyder, Head, Spanolious, Lucas, Sura (possibly) could hold it down. If healthy, they are stronger than the 50-win Rocket teams, two years ago.

Wouldn't Bonzi make more sense at PF? He's probably the best rebounder on their team next to Yao.
But w/e - the Warriors score a lot of points.

Battier is above average as a SF not a PF.... hes way below average.... Yao is not a good defender, he goes for charges more then he does blocks and ends up being called for lots of blocking fouls.... isnt that irony? if healthy a lot of teams in dis league are strong.... but yao's already having issues with his toe, t-mac's back problem could flare up at any time.... basically im tellin u, the season rests on yao and t-mac btw the rockets might be the boriest team to watch in da nba

How is Yao not a good defender? For the past 3 years, he has SINGLE-HANDEDLY (Juwan Howard, Maurice Taylor, whoever our PF was SUCKED at help D) anchored one of THE BEST DEFENSES IN THE GAME. Sure he goes for charges on some plays, but you shouldn't judge a player based on a few plays per game you noticed. Yao's defense is strong. I guess you don't appreciate tough fought defensive games. Okay, that's your preference. Doesn't make them the "borringest" team. Personally, I enjoy it. Of course their season relies on Yao/TMac being healthy, every team relies on their superstar's healthy. Every team has health risks. As of right now, the Rockets are healthy, and unless anything happens- they will remain healthy. So yes, I am going to assume them as healthy.

Dont' waste your time talking about the Rockets. They only got Battier to guard Nowitzki and match up there. Head is better than advertised but they aren't good enough to be a real threat out west. It will still be the Suns, Mavs and if healthy the Lakers will be very good again.
The East will be tough. I look for Detroit to be good again, but Chicago is more of a novelty at this point. they are my favorite team but the east is so weak the champ could be any decent squad.

TMac did a pretty good job on Dirk in the playoff series a couple of years ago.
Jeff is one of the best defensive minds, he would know how to match up against tough PFs despite being undersized at the position.

The Bulls are the 4th best team in the East. They have no post offense.

The Bulls are the 4th best team in the East. They have no post offense. word... 68% of their points came from jump shots last season sure ben and pj improve their already good defense but give me the pistons, heat, nets/cavs over the bulls right now
